Located in a quiet residential area of the city of Komatsu, Japan. Roll Cake is a shop in the main Inn. Kitchen space for make cakes consists on a retail space when you can also eat. Building is planned as an extension of existing homes, a small margin to space frontage. Front of the building is naturally slender store, back kitchen and a plan was decided.
Even in a limited space, the people who work there and the customers who visit have a pleasant stay, I wanted to create a spread in a vertical direction. To prevent snow to the neighboring land during a heavy snow fall.
Taking the gradient of the roof shape towards the front and rear of the building is derived by providing the high windows above each of the inclined ceiling crossed between the kitchen and store. Different spatial height and facial expressions are born. Feel the sign of the cross is an opening that connects the kitchen and the store provided on the bottom of the window that also high. When I raise the eyes while working in the kitchen and when I entered the shop, kitchen and sky ahead of sloping ceilings, The sky and the store or at the same time look.Feel with the depth of the entire building, I had intended to spread beyond the building.
Gutter is not provided in order to prevent damage by falling snow,The outer wall has adopted the same roofing asphalt shingle roof for it.I’m also aiming for a fine pattern of thatched single will be the icon of a confusing residential area.
