An existing middle-sized 19th century farmhouse and outbuildings are extended and renovated for a young family.

The layout of the dwelling is also opened up and reconfigured to strengthen its connection to the courtyard whose character is retained by limiting changes made to the exterior of the outbuildings to just widening some existing stone wall opes.

A system of sight lines is created in the complex of buildings to allow for connections between the main living area in the dwelling and the newly created living areas in the outbuildings.

A simple palette of oak, plaster and limestone is employed which complement the existing local conglomerate stone walls.
