Built along the St. Lawrence River at the bottom of the Massif de Charlevoix mountain, the Grande Pointe railway station gives clients of the new tourist train and shuttle access to the mountain. Integration with the unique landscape of the region is achieved through the station’s simplicity, scale, intrinsic relationship with the river and materials.

The tamarack boards, which cover most of the building, are harvested locally. Their appearance, left in their natural state, will change, becoming grayer over time. The spacing between the boards allows slivers of light into the interior, reflecting the rural architecture of the Charlevoix region with its rustic barns and rough wood structures.
